Quick Guide to the Travel Insurance Offer

Who is eligible for this free travel cover?

Any holder of a Commercial Bank Premium and platinum Credit Card, issued by Commercial Bank  of Ceylon PLC, who is no more than 75 years of age only.


How can the cardholder extend this cover to family?

Premium / Platinum Credit Cardholder may extend this travel insurance to his/her immediate family only when their respective return air tickets are charged to Premium /Platinum Card, provided the Cardholder is travelling with them. (Age group - From 6 Months To 75 Years)

Immediate Family means an Insured’s legal spouse; unmarried three children up to age of 18 (or dependent unmarried children up to the age of 23 if in full time education and dependent upon their parents for support) who permanently reside with the Insured, and receive the majority of maintenance and support from the Insured.


Is the Cardholder required to notify or request for the cover to have this benefit?

No. on purchase of the return air ticket on the Premium/Platinum Credit Card, the Cardholder is automatically enrolled under this scheme.


What is the age limit & the period for this cover?

For Premium/Platinum Cardholders the age limit is 75 years. Maximum of 60 days cover is in force for each and every return trip commencing from date of departure and ends upon return back to Sri Lanka falling within the policy period. If the Cardholder wishes to obtain an additional cover within the policy period, they are required to contact Fairfirst Insurance Travel Department by calling 0112 428719/0112 428788/0112 428732 .(Premium to be paid for the additional days involved)

Claim forms for all claims can be obtained from here or by sending an email to trehan.edirisinghe@fairfirst.lk or tharshinig@fairfirst.lk and lahirucr@fairfirst.lk.

All valid claims under the benefit offered should be submitted within 30 days of arrival in Sri Lanka.

Why is this offer available only with a return air ticket?

The reason for the return air ticket is to ensure the Credit Cardholder returns to Sri Lanka. Those who will not be doing so (e.g. students, immigrants) are deemed as temporary residents in the relevant country and as such cannot be included for this benefit.
